Getting started
While the installation process is pretty much the same regardless of how you are going to use Optimize, some of the installation steps or components depend on which features you use. Understanding how you are going to use Optimize is an important step to complete before you begin the installation process.

ProductsUniform Optimize is a stand-alone product, but it can also work together with Uniform Deploy to deliver the fastest and most scalable Sitecore sites possible.
- Optimize only - You will still have a Sitecore CD server, but it will only be accessed if your CDN has not already cached the page the visitor is requesting.
- Optimize + Deploy - You will not need a Sitecore CD server because your site will be rendered at publish-time.
tip
It is common for a customer to start with Optimize only, and then add Deploy in the future. This is especially true when the site is already built and in production (i.e. brownfield site).

Personalization enginesUniform Optimize decouples personalization from the Sitecore CD instance. The personalization engine is where decoupled personalization runs. Which personalization engine you use determines which components must be installed on the Sitecore instance.
- Akamai
- Cloudflare
#
Front-endsThe technology used to build the front-end of your website determines which components must be installed on the Sitecore instance.
- ASP.NET MVC
- Sitecore JSS
- Headless (non-JSS)
